MSCI ESG Healthcare Funds and SDG 3

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3 focuses on Good Health and Well-Being. We find that only 47 funds that invest globally in healthcare and allied industries had greater than 50% alignment with SDG 3, comprising just 0.51% of all healthcare funds and 15% of total healthcare fund assets. Digging deeper, we found that correlation with ESG criteria was low and that the most-favored companies among the SDG3-aligned funds were U.S. biotech companies.
