Faris Pleho is the lead analyst for aviation at MSCI Carbon Markets. His research focuses on aviation decarbonisation, covering areas such as CORSIA, sustainable aviation fuels, advanced technologies and non-CO2 emissions. He also leads the product development of the aviation offering within carbon markets. Faris joined MSCI through the acquisition of Trove Research in November 2023. Prior to this, he was a senior research and development engineer and subject-matter expert on sustainable aviation technologies at Parker-Meggitt Aerospace. Faris holds a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Imperial College London.

    This major new report examines the financial impact of CORSIA on airlines, assessing carbon credit demand, supply and prices. Our modeling shows that the cost of CORSIA carbon credits could add up to USD 2 (Phase 1) and USD 5 (Phase II) to average ticket prices.
